Cat Lee

I'm Cat Lee, a mutlidisciplinary visual artist based in lutruwita/Tasmania. Through painting, sculpture, photography, short-form film and creative workshops, I explore our relationship with nature and the more-than-human world.

My practice is inspired by wildlife, forests, mountains and quiet moments that are an invitation to slow down and look more closely. Working in a contemporary naturalist style with elements of symbolic realism, I seek to create work that celebrates the beauty, fragility and interconnectedness of nature.

I believe that when we feel connected to the natural world, we're more inclined to care for it. Whether I'm painting on fabric, paper or board, creating natural assemblages, documenting fleeting moments on film, or guiding others through the creative process, my hope is always the same; to foster curiosity, wonder and a deeper appreciation for the living world around us.

The Natural Artist is a place to explore my artwork, exhibitions and workshops, and to share in a practice rooted in observation, storytelling and a love of nature.
